MTS Plant help out at Wakefield Hospice

24th November, 2014

Each year as the Christmas season approaches Wakefield Hospice hold their annual Light up a Life Appeal, which invites people to honor the memory of a loved one who has passed away. The event is being held over three days this year from the 5th to the 7th of December, and includes four separate services. During the event organisers invite people to sponsor a light on their Tree of Lights, which is then illuminated during each of the services.

The four services are planned for the weekend commencing Friday 5th December, with the first service taking place at Wakefield Hospice itself at 6:30pm. The second has been organised for St Peter and St Paul’s Church for the Saturday afternoon, and finally concluding services are planned for Sunday 7th at 2pm and 5pm, which will be held at Wakefield Cathedral.

This year, the hospice chose not to opt for a disposable tree for the service in their grounds. But instead to plant a new permanent Tree of Life, and when we were asked to help we were more than happy to oblige. At MTS we pulled out all the stops, and provided a brand new 14m Bobcat T4140 telehandler, which was more than up for the task of manoeuvring the tree into position. Our Plant sales executive Alistair Russell even got stuck in and helped the volunteers with the planting of the tree once it was safely in the ground.

At MTS we are always willing to support a good cause where we can, Wakefield Hospice is a charity which works tirelessly, helping families and their loved ones throughout the local community.
